Cast your bread upon the waters. For you will find it
after many days. Ecclesiastes 11:2
We work hard to earn money in this world. We like to
receive money. When it come to money , we don’t like to give it up. We are always afraid
to lose our money. Some people stop going to church because they don’t
like to do give for the offering. Money is always a stumble stone to somebody. But Bible said “Cast your bread upon the waters. For
you will find it after many days.’ This doesn't seem to make any sense. The Bread represents
money. Throw away my money upon the water? This sounds crazy. As a matter of fact,
God doesn't need our money. God wants to see your faith. God wants to see your
heart. When you are obedient with your money, God will pay you back with
double or more.
About twenty five years ago, God told me to give all my
money away. Did I become homeless? No! God provided all my needs
in a miraculous way. Before I left Japan, God gave
me all my money back. Actually twice as much money that I gave to God. The offering is not a duty. We don’t do the offering because everybody is doing it. God wants us to use it as a sacrificial gift from
bottom of our heart. Jesus took His life and gave to us. Our little money can
not compare to His sacrifice. What do you give to Him?
I encourage you to cast your bread into your situation. Why does the Bible say waters?
You cannot count water. I believe waters describe our situations. We all live in the different situations. You might
be fighting with financial problems or you might be fighting with family
problems. I don’t know what your situation is, but cast your bread upon your situations.
Give up the things that you don’t want to loose. You will
get it back in a miraculous way. When you release the things that you want to
hold tight, God will release His power upon you and set you free.
